Charcoal drawing of a mummified bat - naturally preserved in its sleeping pose, I suspended him in my home built dark box to take the images to draw from. Such a beautifully delicate creature, with elegantly veined wings and soft fur. Proper grown up gothic artwork :)

The background is worked in carbon to give a velvety, matt finish. The bat was humanely acquired - I was given a box of specimens collected by a friends father who used to ring and release them for study.

Drawn area approximately 8" square, frame size 10" Framed in oak with acrylic glazing so it is safe to ship.
