Original charcoal drawing of the wreck of the Admiral Van Tromp at Saltwick Bay near Whitby. She ran aground in 1976 and remains on the rocks where walkers can visit at low tide. On this particular day, the black shale was just starting to dry out leaving a beautiful marbled pattern that really draws the eye in towards the shipwreck and dramatic Black Nab on the skyline.
The drawing was done on Fabriano Artistico paper which has a lovely smooth white finish, using both charcoal pencil and carbon pencil.
Comes in an oak frame with off white mount and high quality acrylic glazing so it is safe to ship. Frame size 81cm x 56cm (31" x 22"). Additional images show photos of the work in progress.
